Deception Pass Model Yacht Club's mission is to foster and promote one meter model yacht racing as a fun pursuit and enjoy the incredible location we sail in- Deception Pass State Park http://www.stateparks.com/deception_pass.html. We organize races for one meter radio yachts specifically IOM's International One metre. Our primary goal is to have fun and enjoy friendly competition. Our club is number 326 sanctioned by The American Model Yacht Association AMYA theamya.org
We sail IOM's International One metres (link to www.iomusa.org and www.iomclass.org ) by the racing rules of sailing and our objective is to embrace these rules with good manners and sportsmanlike behavior. Being a sailing rules expert is not a requirement but understanding is expected to grow with sailing experience. Sailing these yachts comes with a warning "It is highly addictive". Come on out and enjoy the fun competition and environment!
